Paranormal Romance Author Does the Dance of Joy!

Recently, (late last Tuesday to be exact) Amazon changed the listing on my short ghost story, Famous Last Words to FREE! I was both relieved and very excited because I'd been asking them to list it for free since I uploaded it way back in 2010.

So how did I discover this fabulous news? When I checked my sales numbers Wednesday morning, 170 copies of Famous Last Words had been downloaded. After I retrieved my jaw from the floor, I called a friend and we shared a HUGE happy dancing moment

How do you Define Horror?

Yes, I know you are looking at my name...and at my title...and scratching your head. I'm not a horror writer. I write fantasy (from paranormal to romance to YA to urban). Or so I thought. Strangely

Spooktacular Paranormal Reading For October!

Finally, this paranormal romance author got her act together and created a Listmania list. It's not like it's a difficult thing to do, and I've been included on some great lists, which I appreciate. And naturally October is a great theme...

October seems to mark the 'real' start of fall around here. With cooler weather, football, homecoming, this is when we start gearing up for the variety of holiday traditions and events in our household.

I used to decorate for every season, but as

A Memorable Moment With Adopted Greyhounds

Brody is currently the grumpy 'old man' of the house, but when he was just over two years old, he came to us as part of our local adoption group's foster program. The greyhound foster coordinator had barely put the leash in my hand before my daughter declared, "We're keeping this one!"

That poignant story is just one of many personal anecdotes included in the Adopt A Greyhound Guide that is currently being re-formatted for an upcoming release to kindle. I'm very excited about having the

Always A Paranormal Romance Author

Most people have two questions for me lately. 1) When will Mira's book be out? (December 2011) and 2) Why don't I ever call myself an urban fantasy author?

It's a valid question since I write a series of novels set in the future, starring kick butt alpha female heroines, (par for the urban fantasy genre).

My answer is simple. Urban fantasy didn't exist when I first got published. The joke with Justice Incarnate was that I'd written a

What Does Alpha Female Mean In Paranormal Romance Novels?

What does it mean to be an alpha female in paranormal romance or urban fantasy novels? In the real world it seems as though we equate the term alpha female with bitchy bosses, tough women in male dominated jobs, or family matriarchs.

In fiction it seems alpha female is personified by Lara Croft and the urban fantasy type characters who followed. Can a quiet type of woman be an alpha female in fiction?

Adopted Greyhounds Have Skills?

Our adopted greyhounds love people. They love having visitors. It's like Christmas when visitors come to the house and even better when visitors bring wrapping paper (with or without a present inside).

Brody used to be the first to the door, but he's older now, so he lets the annoying whippersnapper, Bandit, and the queen, Boo, handle the initial greetings these days.

While our adopted greyhounds have pretty good manners, a visitor means they get to show off all their cool skills. Usually
