Repairs Goals and Life of a Paranormal Romance Author

With all the recent repairs going on around here, I've been forced to re-examine the original wish list we made when we moved in to this house 12 years ago. Looking back, I realize just how many changes this house and our family has seen...

This house was where I discovered I could write novels. Then we discovered I excelled at paranormal romance novels. When I made my first sale (Justice Incarnate) and we started mapping my career goals, we dreamed up numbers and all the things we'd

Fun Reading Challenge for 2012

When Nat invited me to the Reading Romances Challenge, I thought "perfect!" Not only do I primarily write paranormal romance novels, but I love to read romances across many genres. Years ago, I tried to write straight mystery/thrillers. But I just couldn't leave out that romantic connection.

Depending on the series or genre, the romance in my novels might be of varying degrees, but I'm a sucker for a team effort on any adventure, so I've never really gotten completely away from the romantic

Book Feature: Creative Spirit by Scott Nicholson

Ever since Scott Nicholson put Creative Spirit out, I've been traipsing all over the Internet encouraging people to give it a try. Seriously, if you like a creepy haunted house story, this is the book you need to add to your list of must reads.

Scott writes prolifically in the horror/supernatural/paranormal genre. With a five star rating, it's clear Creative Spirit doesn't disappoint!

BookAddict from Florida says: "This book made me want to cover my eyes and hide in the closet - but I

Balancing Fiction And Reality This Holiday Season

Being a paranormal romance author is a delight and a challenge during the holidays. (or any time of year). Keeping control of the most productive working hours is a challenge for any entrepreneur. Balancing a schedule, especially when you work primarily from home, is tough any time or year.

It sounds divine to simply bounce out of bed, breeze by the coffee pot and sink into the cushy chair for hours upon hours of productive writing. But working from home means so many distractions that can

Medicating a Retired Greyhound Fun and Games?

This past summer Boo, the petite queen of our retired greyhound pack, started having seizures. Grand mal seizures are frightening to witness and we learned a lot about the best way to protect her during an episode and how to help her after an episode. (tips below)

As much as we hoped otherwise, it turned out that she needed medication to control her symptoms because her seizures were too frequent and too intense. Twice a day now, Boo gets two medicines to manage her symptoms. Phenobarbitol

Confessions of a Paranormal Romance Author

In the interest of not shocking you, let me say up front that I opted to break from my world building posts for a behind the scenes look at being a paranormal romance writer. As a reader you might ask, "What's in it for me?"

Well...I'm fairly sure you'll appreciate your own career a bit more after reading this post. On the off chance I've written this post the way it sounds in my head, you might even spit coffee on your keyboard from laughing so hard. Let's find out.
